Publishing my first game

It's a little funny having published something. Sure it's a very small thing, 3 levels of a simple 2D platformer with basic sprites and mechanics but still, I'm proud of myself. As typing this its been a few hours since publishing 0.1.0 and I do have enough content to justify a 0.2.0 release but I think it's weird to publish an updated version of the game in the same day, so I'm gonna see what else I can make and publish it tomorrow. But it's still very nice to see something out there that I've made. Of course it's a long shot of what I dream of making but I didn't publish this to make anyone impressed, it's just a snapshot of myself. A still moment in time when this was all I could do. A little white square avoiding red triangles and gray circles. And that's a very realistic starting point. My first creation that wasn't just me following every step of a tutorial. Of course I had to do a lot of research to do simple things like a respawn mechanic and moving to the next level but this is still mine. My hope is to continue developing this little pet project and make others and when I get to a point where I just struggle doing something and feel like I can't learn anything right I can look back here and see how far I've come. And I hope one day when people ask me how I came to be a successful indie game developer I can point to this and show that everyone starts small and slowly builds from there.
